There’s a painting I’m trying to find, but I can’t remember the artist or the name of the painting, and I can’t seem to find it online. It’s been driving me insane.
I’m pretty sure it’s an oil painting from the early 19th or late 18th century. I think the painter’s British but I’m not completely sure. It’s night in the painting and there’s a ship on fire at a dock. The painting’s from a perspective up an alleyway from the dock, and there are a few people milling around (at the alleyway and around the dock). What’s really memorable about it is the light. I’ve seen a few other paintings by the same guy, and he’s incredibly good at painting light. It kind of reminds me of this
Hopefully I’m remembering it all right. Thanks for any help!
