Help me find a thread - travelling far on public transit

Several months ago there was a thread that asked how far you could go on public or commercial rail or transit or something. I don’t remember exactly what the criteria were, which is making it very difficult to search for. I seem to remember somebody saying they could get from Boston to Washington in about 22 hours. I believe it was in General Questions, but I can’t be sure.

I did find this thread from Nov 2002 which mentions the thread I’m looking for. Specifically, dtilque says he can’t find it. panamajack adds this, but it’s not enough for me to find it:

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

How far could one travel via commuter rail?

Yes, I believe that is it. It looks like I misremembered the answer. Thank you very much.

Quite a while back, someone did an article on traveling from Tijuana to Vancouver on transit. The route was arduous and inconvenient, involving, IIRC, a few dead spots where they had to do a fair bit of walking.

I vaguely remember this being published in AAA’s “Via” magazine around five years ago.
