Help me find my volume icon.

So the volume in the ‘notification center’ went missing. It stays missing even when I set it to always show in the customization menu. Also, it appears to be using the AIM icon in that particular menu.

So… who knows where my volume icon is?

Start->Control Panel->Sounds and Audio Devices

Oh, heck. I know that. I mean I want it to show back up in my handy area on the taskbar.

Have you done this:

Once you’ve opened Sound and Audio Devices, under the Volume Tab there is a place where you can check “Place Volume Icon on The Desktop”

Have indeed tried that. No dice.

That’s what I meant - no insult intended.

Volume Control Icon Troubleshooting in XP

Absolutely none taken at all.
