Remember that the judge had a degree from Yale Law School on the wall of his office. And meanwhile the prosecutor had been a wealthy defense attorney. Vinny, on the other hand, attended law school at night while working during the day.

Scenes from the Class Struggle in Beverly Hills comes to mind first, for some reason.
Well I did enjoy “Eating Raoul.”
There’s a certain amount of this in Sullivan’s Travels, Ball of Fire and Our Man Godfrey. It was often a factor in screwball comedies.
I’ll have to watch for Sullivan’s Travels and My Man Godfrey, I’ve seen bits of “Ball of Fire” but didn’t find it all that funny or interesting for some reason.
More recently, it was an important factor in Titanic.
Yeah, definite class conflict between poor Jack and Kate’s wealthy family. But perhaps not a “fun” movie (won’t spoil the ending!)

Any adaptation of anything Dickens ever wrote. Three good recent(ish) ones are the BBC adaptations of Our Mutual Friend, Bleak House, and Little Dorrit.
Dickens is perhaps the Original Gangsta of class conflict stories … but fun?
I think just about all of the Marx brothers’ movies fit this category.

The Devil and Miss Jones – The 1942 movie, NOT the 1970s-era porno! (The latter’s name was a take-off on the 1942 film.)
I haven’t seen “The Devil and Miss Jones” but I don’t see how it can possibly compare with “The Devil In Miss Jones” as it has no blowjobs in it.

I think Caddyshack would fit.
Oh, definitely, right on the money.

I think just about all of the Marx brothers’ movies fit this category.
Can’t stand Marx Brothers movies. I SHOULD lurve them, but they leave me cold.

How 'bout Down and Out in Beverly Hills? To this day I do “Call 911! Call 911!” in a hysterical Richard Dreyfus voice whenever there’s a minor accident near.
Well, they did make a Beverly Hillbilly’s movie a couple of decades ago. I have never seen it though.
The Woody Allen film Small Time Crooks is fun, co-stars Tracey Ullman, and deals with class-jumping

I have never seen The Beverly Hillbillies movie either. Probably because I have seen reruns of the series, and I would describe the eps I’ve seen as cliched and not fun, even though they were trying to be.

I’d say Blue Jasmine fits the bill as well.

Dickens is perhaps the Original Gangsta of class conflict stories … but fun?
Welllll, to me they were! Good costume dramas, good acting, good production…
Our Mutual Friend is probably the most fun of the three – it’s focused on two cross-class love stories and they both end happily.

The Woody Allen film Small Time Crooks is fun, co-stars Tracey Ullman, and deals with class-jumping
Extremely underrated movie.
I am in the minority, but IMHO, this is one of Woody’s best movies.
In fact, I have trouble thinking of many others that are better.
Here is a list of all 50 of his films ranked in order from worst to best.

But I think the critic who put together this list is out to lunch. He ranked Love and Death as Number 6. I think it is one of the worst movies ever made.

Extremely underrated movie.
Agreed. It seemed to come and go without generating much talk, which was odd.
With Honors - Ivy League prep Brandon Frasier meets bum Joe Pesci and mutual understanding ensues
School Ties - Working class Jew Brandon Frasier gets a scholarship to prestigious prep school and encounters class and anti-Semitism issues.
Rudy - Working class Rudy overcomes his class, height and weight issues to play football for Notre Dame
Animal House - Snobs vs slobs (although I suspect the Delta house is also a bunch of rich kids)
PCU - Animal house in the 90s
Just remembered another: Bounty Killers.
DOWN AND OUT IN BEVERLY HILLS is very funny, and was a re-make of a wonderful French film called BOUDU SAVED FROM DROWNING
Lots of these are not about class struggle, but are fish-out-of-water stories.
A great one on class struggle is Matewan. A john Sayles flick about a coal mining strike. Company vs Town, Union vs anti-Union, workers vs scabs.
