Help me find the computer game that ISN'T GTA.

Of course, this requires some explaination: About a decade or so ago, I came to love a text-based game called ‘Rock Star’. It, from the look of things, was made by a company in the UK, probably Scotland. You played the lead of a rock band, and made decisions on albums, touring, and… Well, recreational activites (including booze and drugs). You had to watch your creativity, money, and hapiness, which was in no way an easy thing to do. It was an incredibly fun game, although the text went by very, very fast even on what would then have been a slow computer.
I know I’ve seen the game since -somewhere-, but I cannot for the life of me remember the name of it, nor the company that offered it. Anyone know what game I’m speaking of? Searching for ‘computer game rock star’ comes up with a million hits about the GTA series…

I found this…

Rock Star Ate My Hamster developed by the UK team Codemasters.

I know this isn’t the one you’re looking for, but it might fill the need…

Yup, I know exactly what game you’re talking about. The trick is to search for its publisher as well…a search of:
+rockstar +“Wizard Games”
…should do the trick for you.

The Shitbags have reached #1 on the US Pop Chart with “Let’s Go Bang A Nun!”

Good times, man…good times…

AllGame.com listed that game as just “Rock Star” developed by Wizard Games with no other details. Which then lead me to this…

Cripes…not an easy find. Even the publisher’s site makes it put-near impossible to actually buy anything.

Well, I’ll tell you what – I have a copy of it, but it’s on my external HD. I packed said drive in a bin over the weekend and brought it to our storage unit. We’re going to be moving in the next few months, so once we’re all settled back in and unpacked, I’ll check back and see if you’re still in need of a copy. If so, it’s yours.

After, what, at least 10 years without playing the game, what’s a few more months?

Hey, you’re actually absolutely right, Hal. It’s not a ‘need’, it’s a ‘want’. Let me know when you have it back, I’ll wait patiently.
