I’ve been looking for a copy of this movie on VHS for years for my mom, who loves it. It’s never been available commercially, so far as I can tell, so if anyone has a copy I could duplicate, I’d be ever so grateful.
Flick is a made-for-TV holiday story: The Gathering, starring Ed Asner as a dying man trying to reunite his family for one final holiday. It was made in 1977 (see listing at IMDb). I’ve searched the various TV listings services (clickTV, Gist, Zap2it) hoping it would be aired again so I could record it, but no luck so far.
And a search of SDMB yielded no previous discussions of this.
As a holiday movie ‘collector’ over twenty makes me close to… um, a nut, probably, but anyway, I have the movie, if you can’t find it, e mail me, and I’ll copy mine and send it to you, okay???

Sorry for the off-topic post - but your name grabbed my attention. So I looked up your profile.
If I remember my entomology correctly, your handle refers to the water boatman family of aquatic insects. (But as a fish guy, I might be a little off - I always got the water striders, boatmen and backswimmers mixed up)
What gives- are you trained in aquatic entomology or just like boating and/or obscure monikers? Seems like an odd handle for someone working at an insurance company. I appologize for being nosey, that’s just my nature, I guess.
