Help me find this old movie about Miss America?

My Aunt is looking for an old movie from the 40’s or 50’s. A woman enters into the Miss America pagent to please her mother, hiding the fact that she’s recently married. Her father is against the whole thing.

Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Hm. It sounds like a backwards version of 1952’s “We’re Not Married,” where Marilyn Monroe plays a married Mrs. America contestant who finds out she’s no longer eligible because her marriage was illegal. (Along with five other couples.) Her husband never wanted her to enter the contest in the first place.

Beauty on Parade from 1950 sounds very close. The daughter enters the Miss USA pageant to please her mother, and the father is against it. Nothing in the plot summary about hiding a marriage, but that could be a plot twist or something that your aunt misremembered.

I think that’s it, SpoilerVirgin. Thank you! I’ll go email her the answer.
