I was listening to the local college station, and I think they were playing their blues lineup, though it was a short trip in the car and I didn’t hear much.
A song comes on, and it has the line “the stray cat strut” in it, but it’s NOT “the Stray Cats” song, it’s NOT another version by Brian Setzer, it’s NOT that song. I’ve known that song since it came out, and been a fan since. Different lyrics, except for that phrase.
So, I’m looking for a blues-ish (I guess) song that has the line, “the stray cat strut” repeated through it, but is not the popular song everyone knows. I also recall the words “my gut” at some point.
I was driving, a bit distracted, and only heard it once, of course, but when it first came on, before the lyrics, I thought it was kind-of, sort-of “The Doors”-ish sounding, sort of reminiscent of, “Riders on the Storm” a bit. Having said that, I’m sure when I figure out the song, it’ll sound closer to “Yakety-Sax” and I’ll be facepalming, but that was what I remember as my impression, so there you go.
It was electric. If I was thinking of, Riders on the Storm", it probably had some Robby Krieger-esque guitar or Manzarek keyboard sound.
Got a clue, anyone? Googling “The Stray Cat Strut” is kind of a nightmare, even when removing “the stray cats” and “Setzer”
This aught to be interesting. Thanks in advance.
