I’ve run the latest versions of AdAware and Spybot, and the only pop-up I still get is this one. I get this particular one when I go to the site of McGill University (my alma mater) athletics, where I still use the gym. Hence higher education.
And, as expected, when I go to my online banking site, it pops up “Looking for a loan or mortgage?”. So it obviously can tell what kind of site I’m opening.
Any suggestions?
Well, I can’t really tell from that window, maybe someone else can.
If you could post some of the source from the page (the <form action> bit especially would likely be helpful), as well as the Address(URL) entry when you right-click/choose properties on the page, that might clarify things.
Suggestion #1 - switch to Mozilla Firebird, much better than IE, and has built-in popup stopper.
Suggestion #2 - If you really must use IE, install a popup stopper such as Free Surfer
