Help me hook up my car audio system

Don’t ask me why, but I’m replacing the radio in a 1988 lincoln mark 7

Of course the wire colors now are different to the wire coloers then. I’ve managed to get the direct power and the on/off power and the ground all hooked up correctly (I think)

So, it would seem that all that’s left is the speakers but I tried touching various wires together to get the right ones hooked to eachother but I don’t get any sound whatsoever.

The old speaker wires are in a bundle/plug (8 of them) No combination seems to work. Am I missing something?
Yes the car is on and the radio is on.
Also, there are three “extra wires” hanging out of my dash. Two blue and one black. Maybe these mean something?
I don’t want to start messing around with them and blow something out.

If anyone knows what I’m doing wrong, your help would be great. Or if anyone knows where I can find wiring diagrams on the web (I’ve tried) that would be cool too.

Thanks ya’ll

One of the “extra wires” turned out not to be not so extra. It went to the amp mounted in the trunk.

Thanks. Now you folks can sleep at night. I could tell you were worried.
