Help Me ID this TV horror episode

This one has bugged me for years. Any help at all would be appreciated.

The show was one of those weekly horror shows like The Twilight Zone or Tales From the Dark Side. This particular episode was set somewhere in Appalachia. A woman has an evil daughter (witch? possessed? bad seed?) that she’s desperately afraid of . She poisons the girl and locks her body in the next room with a couple of odd items like pine boughs, sand and a butterfly in a jar. The daughter begins speaking to her through the door in spite of being dead and it becomes clear that all of the items in the room have been placed there to trick her into lying still like a good dead girl until her soul departs. Ex. “Mama, why do I smell pine?” “Those are the boards of your coffin. Lie still.”

Anyone remember this episode?

Lab Rat

It was a Tales from the Darkside ep, called The Moth. Debbie Harry played the girl.

The SciFi Channel is currently showing them om Mondays.

Thank you. It’s driven me nuts for years. I didn’t think that the episode was particularly stellar, but the use of what felt like actual appalacian folklore stuck with me. Thanks again, JayJay.

OuryL,

Thanks for the tip. Weirdly enough it was the airing of these episodes that triggered the question. I must have missed it on the episode guide.
