When I was in elementary school (3rd grade) our classroom had a rather large set of illustrated biographies. They were more effectively picture books (each page was predominated by a colorful cartoonish illustration.) I think it may have been called the Life Skills Library or something like that. Each book was supposed to have a theme based on a life skill that the person profiled was supposed to represent.
Some of the historical figures I remember were Jackie Robinson, Will Rogers, Marie Curie, Albert Schweitzer, Confucius, and I think Ben Franklin. There were a good deal more. Will Roger’s book had “humor” as its life-skill theme. Jackie Robinson had “determination.”
It was a really great series of books, and the illustrations were really entertaining too. I want to find a way of acquiring these books - I really have fond memories of them. What was this series called?
