We had some cats back when I lived with my mother.
They were litter mates and one must have had something traumatic happen to her as a small kitten. She never liked to be touched, but really wanted to be. Very neurotic.
Her sister died, and suddenly she tolerated being petted. She went on live quite a long, happy life.
When they first arrived, they were all hissy, displaying claws and teeth.
Thanks to you kind folks I learned about feral kittens, one person commented, put in some of your clothing. I did. Another said, make then come to you, and sure enough they came for dinner. Now they seek out hugs and caress.
The best part is my 7 year old mixed breed dog. He cares for them. Watches over them. Grooms them and even cleans their butts.
They are cute little shits. Now playing as siblings. One is called rayita. It means small stripe in English. She has a small stripe on her forehead. Her brother is all black. So, I named him frijol.
I have had them for 2 weeks. They are still very small. Maybe they were 3-4 weeks old when they arrived.
I want to get them vaccinated and sterilized. But is it too early?

The pet rescues I follow recommend 2 months and 2 pounds for speutering. I think the vaccines are often done the week before the operations, but your local vet can tell you when it’s best. If you haven’t already, have them checked for ringworm (which is a skin fungus, I think, not an animal) and have them pilled for parasites. I think they’re old enough for the parasite pills, but again, a vet is your best source on that.

You can’t just start with a whole human.
You have to start feeding them little pieces of human at a time and slowly increase it until they’ve really acquired a taste for it.
