Help me pick out a paint color for my kitchen!

Beautiful colour! Doesn’t everything look so nice and tidy with new paint?

Paint can do wonders for a room. It just gives it a new identity. I love your floors too. What kind of floor is it? Is it an epoxy flooring?

Wow, your kitchen is going to be AWESOME.

Some kind of rust color would go well with what you’ve shown.

On second thought, after seeing the photo of your actual wall, I think one of the greens would be more appropriate.

The rust would be if you had some kind of half-wall thing that needed to blend in but still be vibrant.

The floors just went down today–not sure what you were seeing–maybe the backer board?

I just uploaded a picture of the floor so far, because I LOVE IT.

Slate tile

Love the kitchen design, Drain Bead! Had I caught this earlier, I would’ve tried to steer you toward some of those slate blue/dark turquoise colors you had in the tile and the flooring. (Likethis, this or this, for example.) However, I’m a fan of high contrast, which is not to a lot of folks’ taste.

Love the yellow and green, though. Glad you went with a bolder color-- so many folks are afraid of putting strong colors in their rooms, and that’s what makes a home inviting to me. I am quite envious of your flooring, as I love slate tile.

That tile really is gorgeous.

I’m putting a very similar slate down in my downstairs guest bathroom. I like it!

Soon, I think. They demo’ed most of that room yesterday.

I love that tile! One of my favorite things is a tile floor that doesn’t line up in perfect squares or diamonds.

That calico one lower-left of center is especially adorable.

Just wanted to bump this with an almost-finished picture, so you can see the end result of this thread.

Colored stub wall

The back wall

You can’t see it with the lights off, but there is a LOT of green in the lighting that comes out when they’re on. It looks great with the paint and the slate (which unfortunately you also can’t see right now thanks to the cardboard). Thanks so much for your help!

Bravo. Looks great, even with cardboard.

I’ve got to say, it’s really impressive. Excellent work.

Well done! It looks fantastic. I wish I had room in the kitchen to have an island. And to do the built-in oven thing. But that would have involved moving some structural walls, and completely redoing some basic layout of the house.

I, of course, am jealous, because my reno is going sooooo sloooooow. But I’ll get there!
