Help me pick presents for my family abroad

I’m in South East florida right now and I’m flying back to Morocco thursday night (tomorrow) to spend the vacations there. I want to bring some presents with me for my close family (grandmother, uncles, aunts, adult cousins, young cousins). Obviously, I can’t go with expensive stuff but I still want to buy them some stuff you can’t find over there. Even better if it’s typically american stuff.

I’m thinking along the lines of $10 per person. Not much, I know, but I’m just a student and they won’t expect anything so it’s ok.

The thing is, I can’t seem to think of anything (except the mandatory chocolate and candy and a couple of things for my two brothers). So what are your suggestions fellow dopers?

For the cousins, depending on age, I suggest t-shirts or other items with your school logo.

How bout some tacky tourist stuff? You’re in Florida, you know what I mean.

Wow, what an avalanche of helpful suggestions! I am frankly impressed by you guys :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s ok. I’ll just take my wife with me, that should help.

You’re giving your wife to your family? You foreigners DO have some strange customs.

Heh. We do indeed. But giving wives is not one of them (unfortunately I might add). So, I took her with me shopping and I ended up spending a bit more per person that I had planned. I limited it to my immediate family though. For the rest of them, I just got lots of candy. So that’s that.

If you can’t rot their minds with American culture, rot their teeth with American candy!

Amen to that!
