Help me pick wedding music

My fiance and I are getting hitched in a few weeks and we’re at the point of picking our processional/recessional music. We’ll have a pianist (he came with the package at the place we’re having the wedding). We just have to pick 3 or so pieces for him to play. The only thing I know for sure is I don’t want the Wedding March or Pachelbel’s Canon. I’ve listened to several pieces online and have kindof decided I’d like some more contemporary piano music (sortof like George Winston maybe, but brighter in mood?).

Does anyone have any good suggestions of composers/pianists I could check out that play pretty contemporary stuff?

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!

I helped run a wedding a few years ago; the processional was “Jupiter - The Bringer of Jollity” from The Planets by Holst, and the recessional was “Throne Room & End Credits” from Star Wars by Williams.

I have nothing of import to add to your quandary, but I’m making mix cds at this very moment for our wedding reception.

Happy marriage to you!

I think I’m going to put this where the music people hang out.

Moved from IMHO to CS.

It’s not contemporary, but are you familiar with Grieg’s Wedding Day At TroldhaugenThe piano solo version is one of my favourite piano pieces.
