Help me plan a Halloween party

Ok, here is the premise of the party. My friend has a house, in this house he has a movie projector as well as the means to conect the projector to a variety of media. The basic idea for the party is that it will be outdoors on his front lawn as well as inside the house. We will be using the movie projector to play movies on the side of his house (we have a screen) complete with sound. I am looking for ideas for movie to play. We already have nightmare before Xmas covered. The movies need to be kid friendly (though not necissarily kids movies), but do not have to be full length. Music video’s, TV shows, short subject etc, are all fine.

  1. any ideas for what we should play? (again we are already planning on Nightmare)
  2. any other ideas for the party in genral to help make it a more all inclusive neighborhood type thing, and less of a lets sit around and watch movies type thing?

I always loved/was scared witless by Disney’s “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow”. Oh sure, there were some people that said Ichabod moved to another town and had a family, but I wasn’t buyin’ it.

If you can get Michael Jacksons full-length “thriller” video, that’s a good one.

Surely some episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (or maybe just the movie?)

As far as movies:

Monster Squad
An old 80’s kids monster-movie with Dracula, Frankenstein, AND the wolfman. So, good stuff.

Evil Dead II and Army of Darkness
These movies are great. There’s some swearing in them, and some ridiculously over-the-top gore so I don’t know if they meet your definition of “kid friendly”. But my kids loved them

I love the Evil Dead Movies too, but unfortunatly it isn’t MY definition of “kid friendly” that counts, its the partents in the neighborhood. Since this is an outdoor, invite the neighbors kind of thing, the material has to be fairly inoffensive. 3 and 4 year olds need to handle it, or rather, their parents do.

Thanks for the ideas.
