Help me resore a modern camping map.

I’ve got an old (15-20 years) Trails Illustrated map of &%x@Z. It’s the standard, plastic, backpacking map. It has been immersed in water and allowed to dry completely.

For years.

I’m trying to figure out what kind of solution to soak it in to unstick the folded pages

There’s the ink of the map itself, plus all of my markings in pen.

Water and dishsoap?

Your plan seems logical. Once it is soaked, you gently open it and maybe some clear rinse water.

Then dry it properly  Good luck, I love maps.

taking a hike in loose hiking boots should resore it.

water and dish soap would be what i would do.

Or brand new hiking boots, that always works for me.

No need to swear.
