Heck, I didn’t even hear of Benelux until I worked for a business newspaper in Europe (and I was all WTF is Benelux?). I was, what, 23 at the time? I’d wager most Americans, not just teens, haven’t heard of Benelux. Is it really that common a term here? I don’t think I’ve heard it since those years in the EU.

I first came across it in Bored of the Rings, where Denethor’s stand-in had that name. “Batty Benelux Burns!” screamed the headlines in Minas Troney.

(Damn, looking through this thread, there’s at least a dozen of these I don’t know, or I only know one or two of the three from. From the OP, Athos, Porthos, Aramis? I have no clue what those are.
