I think you underestimate average Doper age by at least a decade.

I know as a mid-40s person I’m on the younger end. I was just interpreting the statement “middle aged”… 40-60 feels like a reasonable analog, and it enabled me to make the joke. Whether that’s the SDMB demographic, I can’t say.
