In a book there is a page that gives all sorts of information about the copywrite dates and printing and stuff. There is often a row of digits. (not the ISBN number but, a row of seperate digits. Like 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10)
Anyone know what those are?

If you have the full run, including the “1,” you’ve got the first printing of the first edition. Collectable, y’know?
If the run goes “10 9 8 7 6,” it’s the sixth printing.
Warning: Some devious publishers have added a “0” to the number line, so the second printing starts with the “1,” and people seeking first prints are fooled.
