Help me with this bumper-stumper

Yesterday (6/13) on the way home from work I saw the following license plate:

UKAXSNT

For the life of me I could not parse this no matter how I tried to dissect it. The only item I could get out of it is that it might refer to the United Kingdom. It was on a white convertible driven by a 30-ish looking female, if that might help. Feel free to post your own bumper-stumpers, real or made up (if it becomes a “game” of sorts the mods may freely move it if deemed fitting).

“UK accent”.

UK accent.

ETA: I hate you, NinetyWt. :stuck_out_tongue:

DUUUH!!! :smack: Of course! Thanks, guys! I knew you’d come through for me!

Actually, it’s “UK Ax Sent”. I took a course in college called Technology in America. We learned how, when people began cutting down trees, they had to redesign the ax so that it was more massive, and with a more curved handle. This allowed them to cut down the bigger trees that were found in the New World, compared to the trees in England. Well, one of the settlers must have grown nostalgic for an old style ax, so sent a telegram to across the Atlantic. In a week, he got a reply, using the least possible amount of letters to save on telegram cost. It said, simply, “UKAXSNT”. He was so proud when he got this message, that he ordered a vanity plate to let everybody know.

What the heck do you know about axes? Everybody knows New Mexico doesn’t have any trees!

Now you know why!

I got one. Driven by one of my customers. EDBTZ. I do know that you are supposed to say the letters E-D-B-T-Z and it works out to a swear (fuck you, fuck off?) in, I beleive, Ukranian. Any help?

Except in the UK, it’s spelled “Axe”.

As noted above, the telegram was being sent to the US, so the sender knew he could save the extra letter.

It’s explained, and that’s nice, but it’s still stupid.

The NC DMV is replacing their routinely-issued plates that start with WTF after someone complained about its inner meaning. Mostly in the Greensboro area.
