Help me with this experiment! I need 2 films...

Here’s the deal:

I have a DVD player and a PS2 (which can also play DVDs). I’ve decided to try something just to see if it’s any good.

I want to hook up the picture from the DVD player for one film, while hooking up the sound from the PS2 for another film and see how well they go together. No, I’m not looking for some “Wizard of Oz/Pink Floyd” type pdeudo link between the films, I just want to see how entertaining this woud be.

So I need two films of approximately the same length, not sure about the subject of the films yet. Would watching a horror film work well with a Disney film soundtrack? Or should I go for “Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves” with “Robin Hood: Men in Tights”.

Any suggestions?

My plan was to watch Attack of the Clones with the audio from a porn DVD but sadly, I never got around to it. It would have greatly improved the acting and dialogue.

Why not the best of all your choices?

Evil Dead II = 85 min.

Disney’s Robin Hood = 83 min.

Clerks for the audio, a Disney animated feature of the same length - maybe a nice buddy picture.

Sweeeeeet.
That’s going on the list, as soon as I can find Disney’s Robin Hood on DVD.

And to go with dragonblink’s idea, I may do a crossing of classics: The Opening of Misty Beethoven (85min) for the audio to Casablanca (102min) or something. Probably not Casablanca since, as you can see, the timing would be off.

Try crossing the 1964 version of Masque Of The Red Death with the crime thriller Sexy Beast both are approx 88 min.

Monty Python And The Holy Grail and The Limey are both listed as 89 min.

Or the Roger Corman LSD flick The Trip with the Werner Herzog/Klaus Kinski drama Woyzeck both are approx. 80 min.

Or the anime Spirited Away (125min.) with the hockey comedy Slapshot (123 min)

Oooohhh… I like the Spirited Away and Slapshot crossover!

If you use The Opening of Misty Beethoven, might I suggest Amadeus to go with it? It’s a bit long but you can run Opening twice.

How about the picture of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon with the soundtrack of a Keystone Kops collection? I think that’d be pretty funny.

dragon – it would be interesting to hear what bits of the soundtrack play over the ballet with no music part of Amadeus.

Tivo has one and I’ve got the other. Should I try it?

no

Oh yeah, I can definitely see Clerks paired with The Emperor’s New Groove. It would be great if the “36 dicks” audio plays when Yzma is in the scene. Unfortunately, these run at 92 and 78 minutes respectively. :frowning:

Hmmm. The Breakfast Club is 92 mins. Paired with the audio from Clerks should make for some humorous scenes.

Actually, I originally envisioned pairing John Carpenter’s The Thing with The Breakfast Club since both deal with a small group of people cooped up with each other. It should be hilarious with the audio and video swapped either way. But The Thing is 109 mins.

Ferris Bueller’s Day Off with sound from A Clockwork Orange?
