Everthing is fine to a point. The google page appears promptly upon demand.
Then I enter my search.
Results pop out.
Now the problem.
When I click on any of the results, I get full screen spam instead.
There is no way to even click it off and get to the desired page.
Is it a worm in my computer, or Google problem ?
Any help is appreciated.
I can’t help you there, but I would like to comment that over the past 4 or 5 days, when I google something, just as a random example french wire beadwork, I would get 3 or 4 good links, and then an assload of links that would be something like:
http://properURL.c0m/wx7fjt7f
and the little green glyph thingy that AVG pops up for a safe link, but when it is clicked it is redirected to a virus page, if I were to click. I dont click, because I know the random string of letters and numbers means the link will actually go to a hijack with probably a virus.
Then I went to an amazon page that looked normal, and instantly I got a popup that faked looking like a virus scan with lots of negative hits and i immediately popped my wifi touchspot to disconnect from the net, and shut down the computer, restarted in safe mode, made sure that I didn’t actually get anything. [last time I got a virus was because my roomie clicked yes to clean the viruses, it was that damned AV that is a virus thingy. She doesn’t get to use my laptop any more.]
Download and run Malwarebytes. That should fix the problem.
I recommend using Combofix. I’ve used it on similar viruses, it always got rid of it for good. Also, it’s quick and free.
