Forgot to mention: without the feature I mentioned, I’m staunchly opposed to an edit feature. The culture of this board is such that if you can’t be bothered to think about what you post before you post it, we don’t want you anyway.
It’s simple enough- just use the Quote feature, and the words can’t be truely eradicated.
Same here, and after spending a lot of time on other boards lately it’s a little unnerving to not see that “edit post” button after hitting Submit. Not surprisingly, I’ve also noticed more typos here than on any other board.
Two things that can never be taken back are the spoken word and the SDMB post.
That’s why Og made the Preview Post button

Reading further down the thread, I want to chime in and say no editing. We’re doing fine the way we are, and all of us have been on other boards where people have behaved exactly how we worry about.
