Help settle a debate: Do you have two sinks in your master bathroom?

The master bathroom here is defined as the bathroom that is connected to/off of the master bedroom.

My mom’s house has two sinks in their bathroom and she insists that’s the norm these days. Me, I’m telling her that hers is the only house I’ve ever seen that has two separate (bathroom) sinks, side by side. Looks like this.
So help us settle it. I say it’s not as common as she thinks and she’s saying that most people will have it that way in their homes. Who do you side with based on your experience?

Two sinks is becoming standard, but we only have one.
My wife can’t imagine why any couple would want two.

I don’t know if it’s the norm everywhere, but that’s what we have and I can’t think of any friends or family whose master bathroom I’ve seen that has a single vanity. I’m siding with Mom.

ETA: Our house was built in 1980 and we’re on the east coast.

House is 30+ years old. Two sinks in master bath. They’re on opposite sides of a wall, not adjacent. It’s almost two bathrooms, her half and my half.

I don’t know the specifics, but it seems pretty common to me.

2 sinks in the MB bathroom is common enough that it doesn’t surprise me to hear about it. Our condo, which was built around 5 years ago, has 2.

But just 1 sink seems totally normal as well.

I am on my second home. The first one I had built in 1998 had two sinks in the master bath. My current home, which was built in 2008 also has two sinks in the master bath. Most new or newer homes in my state are colonials with two sinks in the upstairs master bath.

My wife and I visited many models and neighborhoods in our search for our next home and every one of them had two sinks in the master bath, so I would say, yes, two sinks is the norm now.

I’m in a lot of homes 2 sinks in a master bath is uncommon but not unheard of. Maybe 20 percent of them

Our master bath is approximately 4 square inches; we’re lucky to have one sink.

I may be exaggerating. Slightly.

My master bathroom has two sinks. My house was built in 1978.

It’s kind of a waste of space to me. We’re almost never in the bathroom using the sink at the same time. One sink gets used all the time, and the other is hardly ever used.

Two sinks at opposite ends of a very long counter. The house was built in 1996, I think.

Two sinks. I store my cat in one of them.

I’m surprised by this thread. I didn’t realize it was that common a thing. But then, I guess I haven’t had much experience with recently-built houses.

In the house-hunting I did recently, I don’t remember seeing any two-sink bathrooms; but none of the houses I looked at were particularly modern.

I’ve never had two bathroom sinks. I’ve seen them, and (since shacking up) coveted them, but have never had the pleasure of living with them. I’d say they are probably common in areas where real estate is cheap, much lesson common in crowded cities where space is dear.

I’ve owned 4 different houses and each had two sinks in the master bath. I look at lots of open houses, probably over 200 thus far. I’d say about 80% had two sinks. Currently even my kid’s bathroom has two sinks.

Two sinks is so you can both do your business at the same time, and so one person doesn’t have to deal with the other person’s shit.

Two sinks in my master bathroom. House is about 25 years old. It has a shower, but no tub. The tub’s in the bathroom off the hall.

You shit in the sink?!

Not often - and usually not on purpose.

We only have one but our master bath is small and hasn’t been updated since the 70’s. I’d love to have 2.

I have 2, not adjacent and one hardly ever gets used, to the point that I sometimes run the water just to make sure all the water in the drain trap didn’t evaporate.

I am curious why would you want a second sink?
