This is all great, and thanks to all. The wife has just chastised me, though, for saying she likes Manchester United. Looks like Liverpool is her team, and she’s definitely going to Liverpool. How much to get into a game?
Other likes include markets, especially flower markets. And boats. She generally ends up taking a boat ride no matter where she goes.
Well if she makes it down to London she’ll have tons of both to play with
For travel to London, I would make one final recommendation: when she gets here, if she comes, I would highly recommend picking up a magazine called TimeOut. It’s available in any newsagent’s shop, and it’s the weekly event listing bible. It’s great.
No boat trips actually in Edinburgh, I’m afraid - but if she’s interested in wildlife, there’s a 30 minute train ride to North Berwick and it’s Seabird Centre. It’s got remote cameras you can steer to look at the birds on the Bass Rock. Or you can take an open boat out to sea and sail round it for a close-up view! Bass Rock There’s a picture of the boat a little bit down on the left.
The other boat trip is from South Queensferry, a short rail or bus journey away, which goes to Inchcolm, an island in the Forth where you can disembark and spend some time - it’s very nice in the right weather! Maid of the Forth
