Got a bracelet from my friend who serves overseas in s.korea. the bracelet has some Korean symbols on it and I’m wondering what they mean…any help would be appreciated! The link should bring you to a picture of the symbols. Thanks in advance!

It says 平安符 which is the word for peace/tranquility and the word for charm.

Those are actually Chinese Characters. Koreans general use Hangul for writing. Hangul is a type of syllabary. You do see Chinese Characters a lot in Korea, but people don’t use them for everyday writing.
