I saw a bird today I thought I could easily identify so I don’t have pictures. It looked and acted very much like a sand piper. I didn’t see it fly. It ran a lot on fast, spindly legs.
I tried Google but got no where.
The main difference was it had 3 (I think) dark (black?) bands on its neck. She was guarding a nest she had built on the ground. In it was one egg. I did get a picture of that.
I saw this bird in the Visalia, CA.
Help anyone?
