Help with romanization and translation

Since the Orange Room over at www.oroom.org won’t do it (and banned me until a couple weeks ago for it), I’ll post my request here since I don’t where to post these kinds of threads

I’d like the song called “نشيد القوات المسلحة الجنوبي” (@ نشيد القوات المسلحة الجنوبية - YouTube**) to be translated into English from Arabic and romanized according to the following conventions in the EALL standard except where:

  1. ذ is ð instead of ḏ
  2. غ is ɣ instead of gh
  3. ث is θ instead of ṯ
  4. ح is ħ instead of ḥ
  5. ء/ع are ʕ/ʔ instead of ʿ/ʾ
  6. Emphatic consonants (ص, ظ, ض, and ط) have a ˤ after them instead of a dot under.
  7. ج can be either ž, j, or g depending on dialect
  8. Go according to the dialect you hear; for example, if you hear zˤ instead of ðˤ or if you hear dˤ instead of ðˤ put the former in and vice versa*

*all four of these are for ظ
** there’s a comment in Arabic posting the apparent lyrics there (5 verses one chorus), those might help

Since this involves song lyrics, let’s move this to Cafe Society (from ATMB).

You might try a specialized Reddit forum such as:

I can give you the poor man’s version, but I don’t know Arabic and even if I did, I don’t think I’d be interested in following all of your rules, for no compensation, as a favor to a stranger.

en em en em en em en em en em en em

Oh, man–I literally L’ed OL at “Our glorious revolution/And a protector of ground-breaking avian influenza.”

Huh?

Was about to give recommendations, but I didn’t catch the “NO compensation” (but it didn’t sound like you were asking for a favor, there were no thanks proffered).

I think you’ll have better luck if you can pay someone – it’s a lot of work, especially if you’ve got custom translating rules like you specified. Is there a reason you’re avoiding offering even a small fee?

Sorry that incoherent post was a bump

Besides that, my financial situation is terrible (poor), so I cannot pay.

As far as I know the first line is supposed to be along the lines of “I am __of the revolution of __”

On Babelfish, “And a protector of ground-breaking avian influenza” is “And my mom crazy land fever family” and on Bing it is “And my mother is on the ground.”

Well, it’s not the South Yemen national anthem, so that’s as far as my Google-fu took me (my high school Arabic didn’t even get me close).

Before starting, please note that the last letter was left out of the song title in the OP. Fixed it for you: نشيد القوات المسلحة الجنوبية

First, I’d like to romanize the title:

Nashīd al-Qūwāt al-Musallaħah al-Janūbīyah

Hymn of the Southern Armed Forces

Oh I missed the ة there

I’m a professional translator. My rate for ar > en translations is $0.10 per word. But I’ll offer you a Dope discount at only $0.08 per word.

Per arabic word or english word? Don’t include title, that’s already done btw

Per English word. Yes, the title is a freebie.

well how much will it cost? Habe you added up the cost?

She’s not going to translate it before she in paid for it! The really horrible Google translation is 317 words. The accurate translation will surely be within about 50 words of that, give or take. So that’s 20 or 30 bucks. Which seems pretty cheap for a professional translation.

Free advice: You’ll have better luck trying to get people to do something for you if you’re kind to them.

Well, I won’t have an exact figure for it until the translation is complete. But I don’t get paid until the product is delivered, just to be clear. Your estimate is helpful.

That’s true. I’m able to offer a low price because we’re cutting out the middleman. I’m throwing in the transliteration free of charge!
