Help with vivid dreams...?

It’s finals season, which means lots of reading, grading, writing and caffeine. When I do get to sleep, I’ve been having these really vivid dreams (not necessarily nightmares, but very intense and detailed) so when I wake up I feel really spacy and tired, as if I had barely rested.
Has anyone else experienced something similar? Any suggestions for a better night’s sleep?

Oldies but goodies:
excercise(as little as a 30 minute walk)
no food 4 hours before bed accept a light snack
warm shower
keep the room where you sleep slightly cool
get a fan or something for background noise
eat some turkey (i kid you not)

As far as why the dreams are so vivid I’ve found one fairly common reason is too much nicotine be it through a patch or sheesha or a cigarette. So also cut back on nicotine if you are injesting enough to effect your sleep.

This isn’t necessarily helpful advice, but maybe you’d want to write them down? Might make for fun reading sometime in the future.
