People here know that I’m very anti-drug, but even I think that hemp got a bad rap, as ther are legit uses for them. Addidas was going to make a hemp sneaker, but the stupidity of targeting inner city youth did that project in. Are there any other outfits around the world that makes hemp clothing: Clothes you cannot smoke?

It isn’t just the drug connection that has stopped the use of hemp. A close relative, jute has decreased greatly in use. It used to be used for making burlap bags (replaced by plastic bags), carpet backing (replaced by non-woven synthetic material) and cordage (replaced by plastic). Converse made a hemp Chuck Taylor All Star Hi-Top a while back, but they are no longer produced.
You really couldn’t tell the difference between the hemp shoe and the regular canvas shoe.
