He’s already had to change his e-mail address and phone number. Story here.
“Crowley is morally responsible” for this in 3 … 2 … 1 …
Crowley is morally responsible for this.
(never mind)
How would it make sense for him to move? He’s in a university owned home and they can provide security for him there better than they could in most neighborhoods. (We know how quickly the police get there when called.)
See! That’s what you get for arguing with me in another thread! You lost your chance in this thread.
I’m mildy surprised that Rand Rover is expanding his interest from economics. Not so surprised, given so, in his stance.
And what is my “stance,” pray tell?
 That you expect the liberals of the SDMB to blame Sgt. Crowley for being morally responsible for the threats to Gates.
Ah, OK then.
Just so no one’s confused, I think the whole concept of whether one person is “morally responsible” for the actions of another is completely devoid of any meaning (because absolutely nothing depends on the conclusion).
Wide?
Shame on you, BG! What a mean, cruel suggestion for someone of tender sensibilities like RR. I’m certainly glad I didn’t say that!
Would you deny that slaveowners are morally responsible for the bloodshed of slave rebellions? I don’t think any true Libertarian/Objectivist could honestly deny that.
What do they call it when someone invents a position their opponents do not hold, and then argues against that invented position?
I like this line from Gates in the article cited in the OP: "
When he’s not arresting you, Sgt. Crowley is a nice guy.”
Would you deny that the smimka is the greatest woogie in all of blargledom?
The koopleburp is a greater woogie than the smimka. Everyone knows that.
 Prepare for combat, good sir!
Woogies at dawn!
Seriously, from reading the article it sounds like Gates and Crowley have amicably sorted out their little misunderstanding following the “beer summit”, and it’s random loons harrassing Gates because they saw something on television about the incident.
If I were inclined to hold a third party “morally responsible” it’d be folks like Glenn Beck who has been playing up the “Obama hates all white people” rhetoric of late, but I’m not. Really the only ones to blame are the idiots making the threats.
Man, it’s great to live in post-racial America, huh?
