In the Fall of 1960 as I was driving into Springfield, Mass. I passed a large billboard soliciting votes for a political candidate. I don’t remember his name and I don’t remember the office for which he was running. But I do remember his slogan: He Built The East End Bridge! For 47 years I haven’t been able to get that slogan out of my mind. At least once a week it pops into my head at the oddest times. Maybe I can put it to rest if I learn more about the candidate. Does anyone know who built the east end bridge, for what office he was running, whether or not he won, and what finally happened to him?
Well I am not from Springfield but my brother in law grew up in the area and is a politics buff. I will run your question by him, he might have some idea.
