He's got WHAT speed, now?

Don’t be so niggardly with your support.

You forget that a “running back” can be a halfback or a fullback. There are tons of white fullbacks.

Wasn’t there some safety from the Patriots a couple of years ago that tried to run away from the cops and got chased down? I imagine that was a bit of a blow to the ol’ ego.

Not with getting-away-from-the-cops speed.

John Riggins is white? Just kidding, I forgot about him. All these exceptions just prove the rule though that Drain Bead was correct in saying Chris Johnson was, predictably, black.

Craig James, I assume?

You know what a fullback’s job is!? To pave the way and let the running back get all the glory!

Typically referred to as “blocking backs.” Not to say that they *never *carry the ball. It’s just rare. it doesn’t make them a running back any more than carrying the ball on an end around makes a receiver a running back.

Yes, thank you.

not generally understood that way anymore. when you refer to a player as a running back, most familiar with the sport would immediately assume you’re speaking of a halfback/tailback. these days, fullbacks a re blockers (essentially, shorter lighter guards) some with short yardage capabilities.

They’re still listed as running backs by the NFL, regardless of whether or not they ever run with the ball.

I propose we simply describe Chris Johnson as having “getting away from anyone he likes” speed, and move on.

no, you’re right. they are technically running backs.

The correct answer to that could be either 1, 2 or 3.

That’s still racist!

> As a public defender, I’m well aware of the fact that white people can run from the cops just as fast as black people,

Where I live, the jury is still out on that one. Cops have been shooting white guys to death rather than arrest them and charge them with surprisingly increasing frequency lately, and being a rural area, there are very few blacks. So it would be hard to collect empirical evidence to test your hypothesis.

Well, black people could outrun the bullets.

Yeah, but Keanu Reeves could dodge them!

I hope Gus Johnson uses “outrun a bullet speed” next, though.

“Darkie at a klan rally speed” would have been way below the belt.

How about, “That guy can run like a black guy in a football game!”

“That dude’s as fast as the SDMB server isn’t!”

“He could beat LenDale White to a buffet line!”
