Hey, all you FAT non-smokers, what do you think about

Dear Obese,Overweight,Chunky and Extra Large People,

What do you think about the government NOW getting into YOUR personal business ???

Paybacks are hell…

Yep several states are now considering passing laws (and they WILL… ) to PROTECT YOUR HEALTH and to protect YOU from YOURSELF…
Isn’t that special??

I read somewhere about 5 years ago, that FAT PEOPLE were going to be the “next big thing” for the government to concern themselves with…
and it has come to pass…
I have no verification… but I suspect and can only hope that
“UGLY PEOPLE” will be next…
ROFL… yep, this is going to be so much fun watching “big Daddy” go after someone other than “The Smoker”…

I cant wait for the restaurants to “BAN” fat people becasue it will be
for your own good"…

So… should the goverment get involved? YEA OR NAY?

Not that it really matters what you think or how you feel, your represenatives KNOW whats best for you.

I haven’t been to the Overweight People Meetings for the last few weeks, but surely we’ll all discuss and vote on this next Tuesday, and let you know.

You know, when our Fat Nonsmoker Subcommittee decided to unilaterally harass smokers, we never thought it would work out this way…

Here’s a piece of advice, direct from me to you: not all fat people think the same way. We are not some powerful lobby that managed to get smoking banned in restaurants, then reclined on our avoirdupois and cackled heartily.
Thin and fat people were responsible for the reduction in indoor smoking.
Thin and fat people have been involved in creating whatever measure you are talking about.

Also, how about a link?

Restaurants are never going to turn away fat people…they’d lose all their business.

I’m not a fat ass myself but “PAYBACKS ARE HELL?” what did fat people have to do with smokers rights?:dubious:

But yes, I agree with the jist of the post though.

I agree that a comparison can be made between governmental intrusion on the lifestyles of the obese and governmental intrusion on the lifestyles of smokers, but it is in my programming to react against anything expressed so aggressively and badly.

If I could get the link thingy to work I would be happy to post ALL of them…
Some of the articles have come from AOL Health News…

Feel free to do a google search and mention

Surgeon General + obesity.

Obesity is now considered an “epidemic”. Yes that is the word that was used in one of the many articles…

Dont get all riled up. I have NOTHING against “large” people.
NOR do I believe they they alone had a lot to do with the governments’ War on Smokers.
I am merely seeking opinions on just how “personal” the average doper feels the government should be involved in your “personal food/health choices”.

JEZUS C!!!

Apparently what I said was taken entirely the wrong way.
Calm down people…

FAT and OBESE people ARE being targeted…

Had it been UGLY people being targeted , I wouldve have said…

Hey UGLY PEOPLE! What do you think about… blah blah blah…
but it will still be pretty darn interesting to see how another group of people, minding their own business, react to more interference in their personal lives…

Please try to restrict your rants to the BBQ Pit from now on.

Let me move this for you.

hmmmm, somehow I suspected this would be moved…
Was it something I said?

It must have been because I used the word FAT??

But with everyone getting their hair in knots, I suppose the BBQ pit is a good place for it… Thanks, C

Dude, smoking in a public building is like pissing in a public swimming pool. It affects everybody in there. Now you can’t impose your carcinogens on others anymore. YEA!

Now, how does another person being overweight hurt me?

Dude,

This isnt about smoking, we can debate that elsewhere.

Please allow a minor nitpick, NBN. Smokers are hardly ‘minding their own business’ when the by-products of their habit (or addiction if you prefer) can negatively effect the health of those around them. Fat people effect only themselves (for the most part) when present in public, very few people have actually died, simply because a person was fat, yet there are studies (which, frankly, I didn’t bother to cite, but will if pressed) showing the negative effect of second hand smoke on non-smokers.

That having been said, i disagree with much of the governments’ intervention into the personal lives of the citizenry. The tobacco lawsuit should have never seen the light of day, nor the gun lawsuit (which from what I understand ain’t doin so hot) but there are times when things ned to be addressed, and smoking in public, IMO is one of those things.

Good, maybe this will finally put an end to the scourge of passive eating.

The government will always be in our business, no matter what that business is. You must be a smoker, right? Are you Native American or African-American? Talk to some of the other groups besides smokers that the government regularly fucks in the ass, man, and you’ll see some real government interest going on.

Smokers… I’m personally very glad a smoker can’t smoke every-damn-where they want. Nicotine goes everywhere, you can’t see it and it fucks us all up. I don’t agree with the government getting into such personal details but smoking causes cancer and not just for the smoker. You, the smoker, makes the choice for yourself and for ME! I didn’t ask you to smoke for me, I wouldn’t choose to smoke anyway. Thanks for taking my right to NOT smoke away from me, asshole.

Obesity doesn’t harm bystanders like that. If you eat a whole pie, will that harm me? No. I may not agree with your food choice but it’s not going to risk hurting me and my unborn child, now is it?

well lets see, for one:

according to the Surgeon General, Fat parents make fat kids which equals " Unhealthy Kids with Unhealthy Parents" who in turn, due to their MANY obesity related medical problems, put quite a drain on the Health Insurance Industry, which raises the rates of nonfat people.

So I guess every time I see a fat person eating in a restaurant I should complain to the manager because my rates are way to high as it is…
Also, contrary to POPULAR opinion, there are NO CREDIBLE studies that PROVE second hand smoke causes anything.
Ask any REAL scientist…
I mean, come on, if second hand smoke caused everything they say it causes. … dontcha really think most of us would be dead by now???

I’m really not interested in the Rabid Anti- Smokers’ anti smoking rants,

I want to hear from the larger type people and how they feel about the government wanting to PROTECT THEIR HEALTH…

Thank you so much:)

You stupid ignorant lowly worm, when did belching foul, oxygen-deprived, carcinogenic cloud of toxic gasous chemicals into other people’s faces a “personal business?”

Maybe I can sit on your face and fart repeatedly.

That’s not what they mean by government of the people, by the people is it?

well so much for that…

End of what should have been a discussion.

I’m going to bed.

Yeesh. Whether you’re a smoker or a non-smoker, whether you’re thin as a broomstick or fat as an elephant, when you actually believe THAT, you are, above all, a fucking idiot.
