Hey Angua or anyone whose good with Phsyics can i have some help

I suppose i should put this in General Questions but oh well.

What did Thomas Young do with light? Any suggested reading or should i just Google it?

The Young’s slit experiment. He basically proved that light was a wave by showing that two coherent light sources would interfere with each other, in a way that was identical to waves on water.

Essentially he had a light source, which was a candle, and put a narrow slit in front of it. This gave him a coherent light source. He then put a double slit in front of the single slit, and set up a screen about a metre or so away. He observed a bright central spot, and then alternating dark and light patches - the first interference pattern of light. Thus proving that light was a wave.

thank you very much

No problems.

ooh your research is very interesting

Ooh… Thank you.

Glad to know that its just not me who finds this stuff interesting.
