hey hey hey whats going on?

i keep getting this small snatch of a song stuck in my head everytime somebody asks me what’s going on. i have no idea what song it is, but i figure it’d have to be from the 70s since that’s all i listen to. does anybody recognize it?

It’s not “What’s Going On” by Marvin Gaye, is it?

Mother, mother
There’s too many of you cryin’
Brother, brother, brother,
There’s too many of you dyin’

(sorry about my singing voice, it’s been described as one notch below miserable)

Otis Redding? It’s actually from the late 1960’s, I think? Golly, I dunno, but now I’m hearing it, too. Curse you, Cessandra!

thank god, im not crazy!!

i dont think it was the first one, though. it was sort of an upbeat song. is that an upbeat song?

[/lurk]my God, I hop yer not talking about that annoying song from the early 90’s by Four non Blondes- ‘What’s Up’ I think the song was. The "hey"s are all drawn out and she’s kinda got a Janice Joplin Wannabe thing going for er… [lurk]

I don’t know why but I was thinking the exact same thing!

I’m sure that is the one. The trouble with me is, I always think it’s Led Zeppelin tune, until I realize it is Four non Blondes doing it. Then, I think it’s just a cover tune and want to give Led Zeppelin all the credit anyway for making such a catchy tune.

slight hijack- Four Non Blondes did a cover of a Zepp song on Encomium. Can’t remember which, but the vocal similarity is creepy.
