Hey guys,
I know I’m tootin’ my own horn here, but a card I wrote/ drew for Hallmark was on tonight’s episode of ER.
Very minor spoilers ahead if you didn’t see the episode…
If you watched, it occured when Wyle/Carter got his care package from back home about 50 minutes into the episode. The card he opened up “that everyone signed” was MY card. Cool, huh?
OK, OK… So it’s not like I was actually on the episode. And you could barely see the cover in the brief seconds it was on screen, let alone read it. But it’s fun to know that somewhere in Hollywood, some set designer decided to use a card I wrote as a prop on the show.
So, maybe I seem a little pathetic, getting all worked up over this… But heck, those 10 seconds or so that it was on screen is probably the most I’m ever gonna get out of my 15 minutes of fame, so don’t mind me doing a little dance in my TV room.
Congrats, Serious Art! My daughter and I were watching and she reminded me, “Hey, do you think that’s the card?!” To which I said, “but it’s not green!” We did see it though fleeting the vision was. Congratulations again.
Unfortunately, no. While I might have all the required skills to have a card I drew to be randomly choosen to be on a tv show, I haven’t the know-how to post something online.
However, if someone’s willing to post it for me, somewhere, I’ll gladly email them some jpgs (once I find the orginal files or scan the printed card).
Ditto for me. When he opened the “big card” I knew it was yours. And the cool thing was that I wasn’t looking for it the way I was when we had the “false card alert” a few weeks back.
Plus, “big card” figured into the plot since it was how Carter found out about Romano’s death.
Very cool, seriousart! I’m glad you let us know about it beforehand.
The “Everybody likes the Dixie Chicks” line was from the end of the episode with Carter rescuing Luka in Africa. There were several parts of last night’s episode reused from previous episodes, so we could pick up where they left off.
Hey Mikahw
Thanks for the offer to post them. I’ll send you some res’d down images right now. Let me know if you have any problems with them. They’re pretty small (3 files, between 80-300k) but they can be smaller if need be.
Let us know where you put them- and thanks again!
As a caveat, guys, remember this aint Shakespeare, nor is it a Rembrandt.
So don’t get your hopes up too high…
It will show you what the fictional staff of the ER chose to send to Dr Carter, though.
I knew that had to be your card the second I saw it on screen! Actually, I guessed it would show up once the package from the ER was mentioned, and people started opening things up! That is really cool!
I think you should try and contact NBC to get the one they used!
