Oh, I don’t know…context? Y’see, I’d call “incest” and “having sex with a relative” equivalent because they’re the same fucking thing. You’re missing a lot of things I can’t give you, but I’ll fill you in on this one.

“Equate” is not necessarily synonymous with “equals.” When you equate two things, you are in effect saying, “These two different objects, which may be dissimilar in many ways, are still similar in the following respects.” When you say, “1 and 2 are both positive integers,” you are equating them by pointing out features they have in common. If I say, “Saddam Hussein and Mother Theresa are both carbon based life-forms,” I am equating the Mother Theresa and Saddam Hussein. I’m not saying they’re identical, I’m merely pointing out what few points they have in common.

No, I think I’m going to go straight to banning yguy, as he was asked, back on the first page of this thread, to state things simply and clearly. Instead, he seems to want to play semantic games…in other words, he wants to be a jerk. I think that he’s had enough chances, and enough warnings, that it’s clear that he has no intention of giving anyone a straight answer.
