Hey! That show is MUCH better than I expected.

I love “Person of Interest” - I’m not a big fan of cop shows, and I don’t really know what sets that show apart, but I find it entertaining and engrossing (and I also find Jim Caviezel very easy on the eyes and Michael Emerson mesmerizing). About all I can say about it to people is, “Watch it. It’s good. I don’t know why.”

I’ve just started watching “Lost” on Netflix - I like it. I like it a lot. It has a lot of clichéd dialogue going on, but it’s still compelling.

Bob’s Burgers. The promos made it look like yet another half-assed piece of crap trying to fill the void left by King of the Hill, and now it’s the show I most look forward to on Sunday night.

Freaks and Geeks – I figured it was a teen soap like Dawson’s Creek or One Tree Hill. It’s excellent. I wonder what a second season would have been like.

How about second-hand? I mean, I watched Upstairs Downstairs years ago when it was on PBS, and my husband (much to my utter amazement) got hooked. He’d walk thru the room, stop and watch a few minutes, and those few minutes got longer and longer, until he gave in and watched with me. We both wiped away tears after the final episode.

Myself? Eastenders! Flipping through channels years ago, I’d watch a few minutes, ‘ho-hum, another soap opera, I can hardly understand a word they say!’ Here it is 15-20 years later, and though we are 5 years behind the current story, I wouldn’t think of missing an episode. There have been some memorable scenes in Eastenders.

Two and a Half Men

Berta: “What happened to you? You look like you tried to fellate a beehive.”
Charlie [shocked]: “What? What did you just say?”
Berta: “Hey, I can conjugate.”

The initial reviews of this show were very tepid, and the first few episodes were lukewarm at best. “Nerdy brain falls for neighbor hottie.”

It was about midway through the first season that it started taking off, and by the second season it had become the show I’m so addicted to.

I was flipping the channels one night, trying to find something watchable. And I stopped dead at a scene with a white guy and a black guy just talking. I was totally mesmerized, thinking “You do not see acting that good on TV. I do not believe this. Whatever this show is, I wish someone had broken in my place, put a gun to my head, and forced me to watch the first episode.”

I checked the TV Guide at the commercial break. Turns out I was watching House, of which I knew nothing but the name.

I thought The Good Wife was going to be a domestic drama about a woman whose politician-husband cheated on her, so I skipped most of the first season. But I heard good things about it, so I started watching and liked it a lot. (It’s mostly a legal drama with a great cast.)

Cougar Town. I though it was complete crap when I first saw it. Then they made some radical changes to the premise and it’s funny.

Don’t be too anxious. I loved the show, but I really didn’t like the movie.

Spartacus, on Starz. I thought it was a stupid 300 knock-off, and the first episode was a stupid 300 knock-off. But they turned it around, and now I think it’s one of the best shows on tv.

Love Cougartown. It’s smart, cute and witty. And always apologizing for its unfortunate name.
