In our very high-end systems we use very good and rather expensive (a 2-meter component video cable for $190, a 2-meter audio cable for about $55) interconnect cables because there you need the quality for the clearest signal. We do NOT use the $1000/ft interconnect cables somebody mentioned because they just aren’t worth it and even MY customers don’t throw around money like that. The same manufacturer makes our speaker cables, which go for four bits a foot, a price even I can afford and which isn’t much higher than lamp cord. It has me thinking that maybe I should rewire my speakers.
