Hi & Lois art work

Has anyone else noticed that the drawings for the Hi and Lois strip seems to have changed slightly over the past few weeks? The cartoonists names have remained the same. I’m wondering if they’ve gotten someone else to draw for them as they’ve aged.

I don’t find this strip all that funny, BTW.

My paper hasn’t carried Hi and Lois for a long time, but I see what you’re talking about here. Might be a ghost artist, but it looks to me like the regular artist might have switched to a thicker pen, or maybe even started using a graphics tablet instead of drawing on paper.

Hi and Lois is still around? I haven’t seen it in years and years.

I didn’t realize they were still around. But Lois is part of one of my all-time favorite comic trivia questions:

What is Lois’ last name?

Bailey. In one comic, the kids were all excited because “Uncle Beetle” was on leave from the army for a few weeks and was coming to visit for the holidays.

Really? It’s still carried in the Milwaukee Urinal/Shitnal. I wish it were replaced with something that was actually funny and not just cute. IMHO it’s just a notch above the Family Circus. Which sucks.

Are you the creator of Hi and Lois? Because you’re making me laugh.

Yeah. I knew about that because I read the comics when I was a kid. It was kind of well known in the 60s with people who only read the comic pages of a newspaper (and maybe others who read other parts).

MOST comics these days are not funny. I don’t get the paper regularly any more, and when I do, turning to the comics pages is a snore. I guess the only one I care to read at all is “Doonesbury,” which I’ve loved since the Beginning of Time.

“Blondie” is still cute, I enjoy stepping into the past with “Peanuts Classic,” and “For Better or Worse” used to be a favorite.

End of an era, I guess.

You think Doonesbury is funny?

Oh, Doonesbury is HILARIOUS at times.

Other times, it’s poignant.

C’mon, no love for Get Fuzzy? Or Pearls Before Swine?
