Hide & Seek vs. Hide & Go Seek

In the northern suburbs of Chicago in the late 80’s, at least, the ‘go’ wasn’t extraneous; the two were different versions of the same game.

We used to call it hide & go fish… or am I conflating my childhood recreational activities?

I did. But I think we used both forms: sometimes with “go”, sometimes without.

Pakistan, early to mid seventies. Hide and seek. Never heard of hide and go seek until I emigrated to the U.S.
