OK, regardless of your politics and your personal opinion of Tom DeLay, he was recently aquitted of, well, everything. The New York Times fires back this zinger:
“But many of Mr. DeLay’s actions remain legal only because lawmakers have chosen not to criminalize them.”
No politics please. I jut thought this was wonderful.
To give them credit, they mention why lawmakers have not criminalized it - because Democrats do exactly the same things.
Although it would be nice if the NYT would insert the same sentence into coverage of other politicians.
“Nancy Pelosi, who has escaped indictment on charges of hiring her relatives only because there is not yet a law against it, said Monday…”
