Yep, both good choices. Dayton in Minnesota has done well too.
I seriously doubt Clark would be picked – he’s fizzled in his Presidential campaigns, and I’m not sure what he would add – Hillary’s experience as SoS already gives her national security ‘credentials’ on paper.
I’ll say it again, a bit more confidently: she will pick someone relatively young and who at least can play the role of ‘outside’ or ‘different’, whether due to background or experience.
Chelsea Clinton?
Clark’s bad campaign is pretty irrelevant. Biden and Gore also had campaigns that fizzled and made great VPs. The virtue of Clark is the same as the virtue of any VP she’s likely to pick: he’s ready to be President and won’t mess up the election for her.
Yeah, like Cory Booker.
Possible, I just don’t think it’s likely. I don’t dislike Clark, though I don’t know his positions on issues these days beyond a vague recollection of his 2004 campaign in which he seemed like a mainstream Democrat.
That’d be fine with me, and I expect he’ll be on the list, as will Gillibrand, the Castros, the VA boys (except for McAuliffe, I think), Deval Patrick, and more.
It’s a big list. The Democratic Party has no shortage of good candidates in 2016. Basically, Clinton will have her choice of several candidates who would make better Presidents than her but didn’t have the foresight to marry a President first.
Bumped.
