Historical events Pop culture has done to death

Yeah, dude, everyone knows that. It was a joke. The show was set during the Korean War but was really about Vietnam.

The books sold well, also Cross of Iron I believe did quite well in the cinemas, don’t know how well Stalingrad did ( excellent movie by the way) but as it was made in german that went against viewing figures I suspect.
I don’t think that the readers of the books were closet nazis or anything, I think it was partly the novelty of the genre plus curiousity about how the other side felt, acted and thought.

Over the years we’ve been inundated with books/movies about Brits and Americans in WW2 and it can get quite stale.

How many more things can be done on the Kennedy’s? I’m sure…hundreds.
