I enjoy “keeping it 1600” (run by two Obama media guys) asnthey talk about the Presidential race, would like more than 1/2 hour a week, however. Any suggestions?
Wife also likes philosophy, so if there are any podcasts on that subject, she would love to know.

For history, I like Dan Carlin’s Hardcore History Podcast. The guy is great, though he can be a bit long winded on occasion. Check out his coverage of WWI from last year, great stuff.
Stuff You Missed in History Class is also pretty good, though I tend to pick and choose what episodes I listen to.
For political coverage, I really like the New Yorker’s Political Scene and Ken Rudin’s Political Junkie. Ken even throws in a segment each week where he talks about a historical race or political event.
For political opinion, you should give a listen to Dan Carlin’s Common Sense.
