HIV+ woman wants to "share the wealth".

How many people have died from sleeping with the guy from Denny’s who claim he was an astronaut?

I’m sorry but you are minimizing this. Is transmission equally possible from a person who does not have HIV as it is from a person with HIV?

No of course not.
Further, the point is that not all lies are equal. I think this is obvious. One lie could potentially get someone killed. The other does what? Makes someone disappointed because they didn’t actually sleep with an astronaut?

That is not equivalent. That is not ‘a lie is a lie is a lie’.

I don’t think it’s rape, but it could be attempted murder or something equivalent. I’m not a lawyer so I’m only giving a hazy guess here.

That’s not attempted murder or rape, however I think if a man has it and knows he has it and then doesn’t disclose then that’s extremely wrong (I’m not a lawyer, but I would probably think it should be illegal).

Are you purposely sneezing on people? Are you rubbing their desk with cough laden napkins or something of the sort?

Is this just casual talk, or are you asserting this as a claim about the law?

If you know you have the flu, you aren’t out looking for sex. You are in bed. You one of those people that calls every bad cold a flu? Anyways, it’s kind of ridiculous to argue this. Any rational person can see the difference between lying about your occupation and lying about carrying a fatal illness, even if you can’t.

Second only to “clean your weapon after every trip to the range,” “Don’t fuck strangers without a rubber” is the most common thing smashed into a soldier’s head pretty much from day 1. I mean, they hear that more often than “don’t cook the grenade!” What our HIV+ woman did was nasty in intent, irrespective of the odds of transmission, but at the end of the day you’ve got to look out for yourself, and that means assuming every stranger you’re about to get into is absolutely hot and frothing with the nastiest pathogens imaginable and taking the appropriate precautions.

Damn right I’m blaming the ‘victims.’ Victims don’t get enough blame in general. Sure, it happens that someone gets something they don’t deserve: some Arab crashes a plane into your office, a car runs up on the sidewalk and squishes you, or someone kicks in your door and does the home invasion horror show. But there are plenty of cases where the ‘victim’ exercises their right to X action without reasonable regard for likely consequences–no matter how wrongly perpetrated against them. So bullshit on calling this rape, assault, battery or anything else. Guys stuffed their dicks into the unknown despite knowing it was a bad idea. They need to grow up and take better care of themselves.

How many men have died from having sex with women who didn’t mention they were HIV+?

In a lot of places, what she did was a crime in and of itself. That is, knowing that you have a deadly STD and not disclosing that fact prior to having sex with someone.

Depends–men with foreskins get it a lot easier than the circumcised ones. Something to do about the foreskin not being leatherbound on the inside, but a mucous membrane with a nice safe place for germs and such to work their way into the blood stream.

Guys most definitely can get it if they’re unmodified. And if they’re particularly rough and tear their shaft hide there’s another point of entry foreskin or no.

Hey, I’m with all you guys, as I said. I absolutely support prosecuting this woman. I just hope everyone is still on board when it’s men being prosecuted.

Already been there; already prosecuted that.

Amen!

They are when they knowingly expose someone to an STD.

Any STD? After all, being HIV+ is hardly a death sentence these days. And we’re only counting STDs right? Exposing people to other diseases is ok?

Here you go.

Exposing people to other diseases is inevitable.

You can try to reduce the chance of the disease spreading but unless you have no kids, take three weeks off work and live off canned goods until you get better, you will expose other people to disease when you catch a cold.

I’ve always heard that about circumcised vs. uncircumcised too, but recently I’ve started hearing another side of it, so I’m not sure which is true. Obviously it could just be the anti-circ nazis spreading propaganda, but it also might not be, so if I had some reason to be concerned about it (if I was pregnant with a baby boy or something), I’d look into it further.

In any case, as far as I know, the HIV virus doesn’t get into intact mucous membranes. Any male or female would need to have a cut (which can be small enough to be undetectable, but are more common in women).

And there’s not even a huge chance of a woman getting HIV from unprotected vaginal sex. It seems like the efforts to destigmatize HIV/AIDS have led people to overinflate certain risks. I’m all for destigmatizing it, but we still need to be honest.

Being against mutilating babies’ genitals makes one a Nazi now?

No! I’m quite against it myself. At least under most circumstances (if it’s true about it making HIV transmission significantly less likely, it might be a great choice under certain circumstances). But I looked into it a lot before I knew I was having a daughter, and some of those people do take it crazy-far, IMO.

No deaths. One rough re-entry.

I get that you are attempting to prove some sort of point here but it’s illegal to knowingly expose someone to a potentially deadly disease. From Typhoid Mary to the more recent HIV laws.

Lying about your wealth, whether or not you have an SO in another city, profession or intentions is not illegal. Gender doesn’t enter into it in any way.
