I love the books.

I love the movies.

I see them as two different things, with the same names and plot points.

Yeah, I’m with you, BMalion. I know I’ll enjoy the new movies. There were a few points in the LOTR trilogy when I felt the changes didn’t make sense in themselves (e.g. the completely unnecessary trip of Frodo/Sam to Osgiliath, the Entmoot saying no then yes) but I still enjoyed them lots.

For the promise of another trip back to the Shire, I’m pretty tolerant.
